- Shoot subject against white
- Duplicate layer
- Enhance > Adjust Color > Remove Color
- Duplicate monochrome layer
- Set to Overlay
- Merge Down (2 new = 1 new)
- Hard black Overlay brush, paint monochrome mask black vs white, except tips of hair
- Add Levels Adjustment layer
- Move 1 new layer to mask of Adjustment layer
- Place new background on _top_ of the stack
- Layer > Group With Previous
- Set blend mode of Adjustment layer to Multiply
- Blur non-hair parts of Adjustment Layer mask a little
- Enhance > Adjust Lighting > Levels - get rid of halo
- Select Hair on mask
- Select > Inverse
- Levels, remove halos on hair
