Third Reich
Page history last edited by Brev Patterson 2 yrs ago
Setting
- Scary levels of nationalism
- Conservative-leaning government, but with Social Security & Large Government programs (Government as provider, trade freedoms for security).
- Hegelian Philosophy (State is all that matters, it is above morals, war is moral, peace has no place in history, war is whole purpose of the state, war is a great purifier, state knows better than population of dumb slaves and will do the thinking for them)
- Dictatorial powers available in case of state emergency
- Peace-time, with economy starting to drop
- Happened legally under a democratic constitution
- False-flag attack on self, blamed external threat (patsy incapable of actually committing crime).
- Use fear from false-flag attack to invoke emergency dictatorial powers and suspend individual civil liberties in the name of protecting the people.
- Constant unsubstantiated propaganda about "sleeper cell" internal threats.
- Invasion of other countries under false pretexts of self-defense.
- Building of large internment camps within own borders.
Hitler
- Oratory & public speaking (self confident and rage)
- Appeal to the masses
- Symbols & propaganda (resonate with cultural mythology)
- The Dip - never give up (he was twice at rock bottom)
- Gave a path/goal of resotration/greatness
- Built up new state within old state fully (organization that mimics the old)
- Worked within constitution and political system
- Brought powerful institutions to his side (money & army)
- Not popular vote (30%) but behind-the-scenes maneuvers
