Word Rape

Page history last edited by Brev Patterson 1 yr ago

"In these cases, words were used only to get something and only for the moment. There was never any consistency, reality, or predictability to the use of the words. The child could not trust the words. That is, the words had no depth, value, or meaning beyond momentary need filling. People who come from these homes are often unable to benefit from or understand psychotherapy or counseling attempts to help them. Those who have find it very difficult to receive help and have to settle for psycho-tropic medication to help them. And that does not necessarily mean that the causes of their problems are chemical." --Sterling G. Ellsworth
